I currently have a chihuahua tucked into my arm. Mum and I are taking care of two of them for the next eight days while their mum is in Mexico. They're sweet things and thankfully they're pretty quiet; not these yapping, overly excited little dogs. The only thing is that they're so clingy it can get a little frustrating at times. Still they're sweet and we enjoy having them here.

Wednesday and Thursday I did my job training and on Friday I did an actual shift at the store I would be at. Yesterday I sent in my letter of notice. LOL It was one thing to hear about it and talk about the job, but to actually do it? Yeah, no. My first shift was four hours and after just an hour and a half I was ready to run screaming from the store. Nothing happened specifically to make me feel this waxy except for the whole job. Plus the manager emailed all of us and said that head office had told her she was over hours, so everyone's shifts were cancelled for the week, so that was a sign, I think. At least I got paid for training and one shift, so it wasn't a 100% waste of time.

OH, I'M SORRY, DID YOU MEAN TO KILL ME TONIGHT? BECAUSE I REALLY PLANNED ON LIVING PAST TODAY. I WAS GOING TO DO THINGS. ACCOMPLISH THINGS IN MY LIFE. BUT NO, YOU HAD TO GO AND BE SUCH A NICE FUCKING GUY TO YOUR FANS WITH YOUR ADORKABLE SMILE AND T-SHIRT. I HATE YOU. SFM. [/rage]

In other news: I got a job today. It's not anything exciting and if I really hate it I can quit, but at least it'll give me a little money to save towards school. I'm going to be one of those annoying people like in a department store trying to get you to sign up for their in store credit card. :Db I have the potential to make up to $19 an hour (that's with base pay plus commission), but I really doubt that will happen. I went to the interview this afternoon and she pretty much just hired me on the spot; I start training tomorrow morning.

Lastly, my mum and I were victims of a home invasion tonight. Apparently we forgot to completely shut and lock the kitchen window before we left, so we had a surprise when we got home.

Saw The Avengers today for the third time.



Yes, you read that right. I've seen it three times and it's only been out a week. I've never done that with a movie before. This is worse than LOTR: FOTR (my theatre record for that was seven times). Anyway, dad took me and we saw it in IMAX 3D (holy shit, tickets were $17.50 each, I'm glad my dad paid) and it was glorious. I really do prefer the 2D version though just because I find the 3D is too dark and hard to make stuff out in the night/low lit scenes, plus it's hard to focus for me sometimes. But I'm still glad I saw it in 3D just for the experience and in IMAX because holy shit, Captain America and Hawkeye's asses were fiiiiine.

Other than that nothing too much going on. I'm looking for a summer job which is causing me some anxiety because I need it soon and I need about $3,000 for computer software and equipment that isn't covered in my tuition for my second year of school. I can get loans to cover it, but we kind of need the loan money to, yanno, eat and pay rent. Anyway, even if it's a part time job I'm okay with that. If I can make at least $3,000 over the summer then I'll feel a lot better putting up the money for things. Anyone have any suggestions about summer work? I've never looked for work as a student where I would have to quit at the end of summer, so I'm finding it a little confusing if I should tell them up front that I will quit in a few months or keep my mouth shut or whatever.

While looking for work and obsessing over Avengers, mum and I are doing a major cleaning and giving away of all our stuff. Our landlord has put the house up for sale, so we could be moving in the near future (or however long it takes a house to sell). We're hoping that we can just stay put with the new owners rather than move. We wouldn't really be able to find anything too different rent wise, so why move if you don't have to?

I've convinced my dad to see The Avengers this weekend. He's only ever seen Iron Man, but I don't think he'll have a hard time following what's going on. Either way it'll be my third viewing (I'm going to see it again tomorrow night) and I won't have to pay because me dad always treats me when we go to movies. :D

Ha! Long time no update.

Today is my LJ's 10th anniversary... which is kind of surreal. I mean 10 years of just me (among other stuff) on this thing. I also find it kind of ironic and sad that this is the longest I have ever gone without updating since I made this journal. I'll try and not do that any more.

I have actually been sucked into tumblr and you'll see me spazz out over there about everything fandomy. Currently my tumblr is just a wash of Avengers, Loki, Tom Hiddleston, and Michael Fassbender. If you can put up with me and have a tumblr you can follow me here

Other than that my life really hasn't been much other than school. Thursday I officially wrapped up my first year in my illustration and graphic design course. I don't have to go back until the end of August, so in the meantime I'm looking for a summer job. I hope I find one because I have to get the Adobe CS6 for 2nd and 3rd year and the STUDENT rate for it is $700. But it'll be worth it. I can't torrent it because they'll kick you out of the program if you do/they find out. I also need a job because I really want to invest and get a Wacom Cintiq and they're not cheap. A few others in the class are getting one and we're all leaning more on illustration that graphic design. Still, I think it'll be an all around good investment and could help me get an edge on my career.

Anyway, that's about it, really. Other than turning myself inside out waiting for The Avengers, school, and looking for a job my life is one big... meh. :P
